Denied Attempt to Move Georgia Election Interference Charges Under Federal

Federal Appeals Court Panel Denies Meadows' Motion

A federal judge has denied former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows' request to move his Georgia election interference charges under federal jurisdiction. US District Judge Steve Jones rejected the request, stating that the case should remain in state court.

The prosecution of former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows for attempting to overturn the 2020 election will remain in Georgia state court, as per the decision of a federal appeals court panel. The panel rejected Meadows' request to move the case to federal court, determining that the state court has jurisdiction over the matter.

Meadows, who served as White House chief of staff under former President Donald Trump, has been charged with racketeering and solicitation of election fraud in connection with his alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia. The charges were filed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
