Removing Acrylic Nails: A Quick and Easy Guide
Soak and Wrap Method
Step 1: Gather Materials
You'll need cotton balls, pure acetone, aluminum foil, a nail file, and a cuticle pusher.
Step 2: File the Nails
Roughen the surface of the acrylics with a nail file to create a more porous surface for the acetone to penetrate.
Step 3: Soak the Nails
Saturate cotton balls with pure acetone and place them directly on top of each acrylic nail. Wrap each nail firmly with aluminum foil to secure the cotton balls.
Step 4: Wait and Remove
Allow the acetone to soak for 20-30 minutes. Once the acrylics have softened, use a cuticle pusher to gently push them off the natural nails.
Other Methods
Drilling
This method uses an electric drill with a fine-grit nail bit to grind down the acrylics. It's a quick process but requires skill and caution.
Clipping and Buffing
This method involves using nail clippers to snip off the acrylics and then buffing out the remaining residue. It's a less effective and more time-consuming method.
