Filmmaker and CNN Host Passed Away on May 24, 2024

Morgan Spurlock, the filmmaker and activist known for his 2004 documentary "Super Size Me," has died at the age of 53.

Spurlock gained fame with "Super Size Me," in which he ate only McDonald's meals for 30 days, shedding light on the health risks associated with fast food consumption. The documentary became a critical and commercial success, winning numerous awards and sparking a national conversation about the dangers of processed foods.

In addition to "Super Size Me," Spurlock directed and produced other documentaries, including "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold" (2011) and "Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold 2" (2017). He also hosted the CNN series "Morgan Spurlock Inside Man" from 2011 to 2014.

Spurlock's death was confirmed by his wife, Alexandra Jamieson. The cause of death has not yet been released.
