Henry Cavill James Bond Screen Test

Henry Cavill's 007 Audition Was 'Tremendous,' Says Casino Royale Director

Martin Campbell Recalls Cavill's Screen Test at Age 21

Henry Cavill's audition for the role of James Bond was "tremendous," according to Casino Royale director Martin Campbell. In a recent interview with Express UK, Campbell revealed that Cavill tested for the role when he was just 21 years old. "He came in, and I cast him because he was so good," Campbell said. "He was very young, but he was very talented."

Cavill's Impressive Physique

Campbell also praised Cavill's physique, saying that he was "the best-looking James Bond ever." However, he noted that Cavill was a bit too young for the role at the time. "He was just too young," Campbell said. "He was 21, and the role required someone a bit older and more experienced."

Cavill's Future Bond Prospects

Despite Cavill's impressive audition, Daniel Craig was ultimately cast as James Bond in Casino Royale. Cavill has since gone on to star in other major roles, including Superman in the DC Extended Universe. He has also expressed interest in playing Bond again in the future.

Whether or not Cavill will ever get to play Bond remains to be seen. However, his impressive audition for Casino Royale suggests that he has the potential to be a great 007.
